I found this.. if it works for the Iconia WM8.1
Here is the list of key combinations for the Acer ICONIA TAB A510.
First, here are all the relevant keys:
[vol -] and [vol +]: Volume adjustment;
[lock]: Screen rotation lock;
[power]: Turning on the tablet;
[reset]: Restarting the tablet, accessible with a paperclip as too often;
Now, the combinations!
Starting in recovery mode (stock, CWM, or other...):
- Press [vol-]+[power];
- Once the tablet vibrates, release [power] and keep holding [vol-];
- On the second vibration, release [vol-] and hold [vol+] (not necessary on some tablets);
- Once text appears on the screen ("loading recovery kernel image" OR "Entering boot menu mode"), release [vol-];
Factory reset (Full wipe, basically equivalent to a "format" like when reinstalling Windows):
- Press [vol+]+[power];
- As soon as the tablet vibrates, release power and press [lock] several times;
Starting in fastboot mode:
- Press [vol-]+[power];
- As soon as the tablet vibrates, release [power] and press [lock];
Starting in APX mode:
This mode is necessary to use the nvflash tool which is not yet available, this manipulation is useless for now;
- Press [vol+] and [vol-] at the same time and hold;
- Press [reset] once;
- Release the volume buttons;
Nothing on the tablet indicates that it is in this mode (black screen and power LED off), you need to connect it to the PC to ensure it is properly detected.
