Hello,
I would like to access the BIOS of my Asus X301A computer, as on my laptop running Windows 8.1, I can no longer access the PC settings or even the refresh mode that allows me to restore the original Windows image.

On this website, it states that you need to press F8 at startup, but nothing works.
Does anyone have a solution for my problem?

Hello,
Try the other keys: escape, delete, ... Try all the functions and see what they do, you should have a key that is assigned to the BIOS but which is not listed as mentioned on the site.-
Thank you, but I have already tried multiple combinations of keys, whether it be the escape key, delete key, fn key, all the function keys.
I don't know what to do since I have a backup of my computer on a USB stick, but as long as I don’t have access to the BIOS, I can't boot from the USB stick, and since the PC refresh option is not accessible, I can’t do anything.
Does anyone have a command line in "Run" so I don't have to use "PC Settings" to refresh my PC?
Thank you in advance. -
Alright. There's a key that needs to be assigned that allows you to access the boot device options and lets you choose what you want to boot from. One thing that makes me wonder: you can access your PC, Windows, but not the BIOS? You can insert your USB drive at that point and boot the program like any other.

Yes, I have access to my computer, to the Windows desktop and I can launch all my usual software, except for PC settings which only displays for a second and then stops working.
I inserted my recovery USB stick but when I try to launch it, it's not a usual program that can be run, it’s just special files (no setup actually or automatic program). How can I make my computer boot from this USB stick?
Thank you. -
Hello, if it is possible to turn on the PC, it is also possible to access the BIOS. However, the boot process is primarily triggered by the fixed hard disk drive (Hard Disk Drive). Therefore, if it is degraded, you need to change this priority (Boot Drive Order) to boot from a removable device (Removable Device) such as a USB drive. Change the order using the F5/F6 keys in the BIOS.
