Hello,

This afternoon, my PC suddenly displayed a black screen, whereas this morning I was still able to use it without any issues.

So I turned off the PC and restarted it. The fans (CPU/GPU) started, the LEDs lit up, the drives opened, but nothing appeared on the screen: No signal.

Here is the list of actions I have attempted (using only keyboard/mouse/screen):
1) Unplug all hard drives except the system disk (Win7) ==> PC does not boot and there is no display, the fans start, and there is no sound from the hard drives.
2) Reboot with one RAM stick at a time ==> SAME
3) Booting with the graphics card unplugged ==> Does not boot, the fans start, but there is no sound from the hard drives.
4) Attempting to boot from a CD ==> Impossible, does not even reach the BIOS display.
5) Removing the BIOS battery for 5 seconds, then reinserted it ==> Still the same symptoms = no boot.
6) Testing the hard drives by keeping them connected to the case and plugging them into a SATA port of another machine ==> The hard drives are recognized just fine.

I don't see what else I can do, can you help me?

Thank you in advance,

Best regards,

Ptitsnake.

Configuration: Windows 7 Pro / Core2duo E6600 / 4GB DDR2 / MSI 7900GTO

7) Booting with dd, without CD drives?

8) Possibility? : The BIOS battery is dead, the BIOS settings have been erased, the BIOS is now incorrectly assigning port numbers (conflict) or the boot order of devices (hard drives, drives)..

9) Check for test "1)" that the hard drive cable is connected to the correct master port, and/or that the hard drive is configured as master..

10) Add a speaker, connected to the motherboard at the pins of the front panel connector. This is to have the "error code" in beeps...

Thank you for your help,
7) Same thing without the CD drives, still no display and no boot.
8) I will test tonight and try to do a clear CMOS in the meantime.
9) The hard drive is set to master.
10) Before this issue, my motherboard would beep correctly in case of a problem.

Best regards,
