Connecting your PS4 to a monitor (HDMI to VGA)

Hello, I just got a PS4, which has an HDMI socket for audio and video output. Since I can't afford a screen with an HDMI input at the moment, I'm considering connecting my PS4 to a monitor (which is 3 years old without an HDMI input but with a VGA input) and I would like to know if there is a way to do this. If so, I would like to know what equipment I need to use.
If a solution exists, I understand that there might be some loss of quality, but I will still notice an incredible difference since I will be upgrading from a CRT TV (for my PS3) to a monitor that supports 1080p, so even with some quality loss, I will still be gaining in quality. For those who might suggest I invest in a TV with an HDMI input, please know that if no solution exists, I will do that, but I prefer to have some quality loss than to pay over 200 euros for a TV.

Hello,
After some research, I am using this adapter that has an audio output and allows the PS4 to work on a HP screen from late 2009.

With a "mini Jack" output for sound. It's up to you to connect your speakers or headphones!
Be careful, you need to start in safe mode (long press on the button until you hear two "beeps") to change the resolution.
Another adapter is the Ugreen available on Amazon, cheaper since Amazon is tax-exempt in Luxembourg :(.

In any case, make sure that the converter is "active".
After that, you have to agree to lower the resolution (to 480) to find some fluidity. The best option remains a screen with an HDMI or DVI port.
I'm posting this because I had a bit of a hard time before finding a solution.
Happy New Year!

I stumbled upon this topic by chance because I also have an image issue with my PS4 on my computer screen...
I just noticed that I'm using exactly the same adapter you mentioned, the Ugreen, but unfortunately I get an error message that says:
"MODE NOT SUPPORTED - H: 67.2KHZ - V: 59.7HZ"
My screen is from the brand Medion and is probably a little older than yours, but I was also wondering... what do you mean by "active" converter? There’s no LED that lights up on mine, but I think it is active since it works with my laptop.
If you have a solution, I’d gladly take it!
Mine blinks every 1.4 seconds, it is already at 480 pixels
I followed the steps ????
