Issue with an HDMI/VGA adapter

Hello,
I recently bought an HDMI/VGA adapter for the Bac TPE exam because my laptop only has an HDMI port and the school's video projectors are VGA. I tried it on a GIGAMEDIA GGM CCMLCD21PP computer screen; I connected everything but nothing appears. My PC screen turns off (but sometimes it turns back on for 1/4s) and the second screen does the same.
It says: "Allows you to connect HDMI devices to your VGA monitor/projector." But is it only for video projectors?
What should I do please?

Try lowering your screen resolution.

hi

it's normal that it doesn't work because HDMI is a digital signal and VGA is an analog signal, so they are not compatible.

you need to use a converter for it to work.

Second screen on the video projector is normally the same thing.

You say there are flickers on both screens, for me it's the graphics card struggling to focus... Try updating your graphics driver just in case.

Can you take a photo or several to see what you have? Make sure to get the inputs and their designations to check if they match the input and output correctly.

Perhaps you will find an answer here, it's possible I think. You must have a configuration or hardware issue.

Hello everyone,
So I took my TPE exam and I tried the adapter (while keeping a safety net with a presentation on a USB stick that is compatible with the school's PCs) on the projector in the room... AND IT WORKED!!! By some miracle, it worked... but it still doesn’t work with my second screen. So the problem comes from the second screen.
