Hello
as a novice in computers. I have a desktop computer running Windows XP filled with viruses.
My hard drive is divided into (C: system files, etc. and D: where I have my photos, documents, etc.). My two questions are as follows:
1) how to format the C drive only (I have the Windows XP CD)
2) if I format the C drive only, will all the viruses on my PC be removed, and will everything be clean? Since Windows and system files are located on the C drive?
Thank you very much for your answers, which will be very helpful to me.

Hello.
It's not just Windows that can get infected but also photo files or documents, etc. that are on your D: drive.
You can format and reinstall Windows! but that doesn't mean your PC will be clean.

Hello, thank you for your response, Tribunal. I understand about C and D.
So I need to do a complete format to have peace of mind.
Now I'm wondering how to keep all the files (important to me) that are on D, and how to proceed with the complete formatting? (I have the Windows XP CD)
Thank you again.
