Hello everyone,
Since I'm very afraid of losing my data, I often do backups. The problem is that it takes time... a lot given the mess I have on my PC.

I wanted to know if I could use my computer during backups and to what extent? I use Cobian Backup, and this program has the "Volume Shadow Copy". Here’s what it says about it: "In order to allow the software to back up files even when they are in use by another application, it is necessary to install the 'Volume Shadow Copy' service."

I'm still worried about using my PC during these backups because I fear that my backup might be corrupted because of that. What do you think?

Hello.

I completely agree with Tribun. This is the procedure I use. If your PC's hard drive gets destroyed, the backup you made will be worthless.

This is just a suggestion... See you later

Hello,

Windows is multitasking, so you can use it during this action.
No risk of error. The PC will, however, be slower.

Hello.

Personally, during the creation or updating of images (Ghost) and backups (Backup), I don't do anything else.

It's safer.

Have a nice day.

Hi
To back up your data, it would be beneficial to use an external hard drive and transfer your data there.
Because making frequent backups takes up a lot of space on a hard drive.
When you create a backup, it is better not to use the computer.
It is indeed safer!
