Installing Bibliorom Larousse 2.0 on Windows 8 64-bit

Finally, I found a solution after several attempts and tweaks.
This only applies to an installation on Windows 8.1 64-bit, so you must have the original Microsoft Bibliorom Larousse 2.0 CD. It doesn't seem to work for Windows 7, you would have to try.

Here is the complete procedure:

1. Copy the entire Bibliorom Larousse 2.0 CD into a local directory such as "C:\Bibliorom2" (just by copy-pasting).

2. Install Adobe Shockwave from here: https://helpx.adobe.com/fr/shockwave/shockwave-end-of-life-faq.html

3. Copy the file C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Director\SwDir.dll into C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Adobe\Director (because Bibliorom will look in this directory rather than the other). This is an old version of the SwDir.dll library dated 06/17/1998. If this is not the case, you will need to find this file from a PC with a successful installation of Bibliorom under Windows XP, for example.

4. Locate the file C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Adobe\Director\SwDir_1207148.dll and rename it to "SwDir_1207148.dll.old" so that Shockwave no longer accesses it but instead uses the original old version, i.e., the SwDir.dll file we copied earlier. Be careful: since it is an old version, it may have adverse effects on other programs that use this functionality or security issues; it's up to you to take the risk. But you can easily revert to the default version by renaming this file by removing the ".old" from its name if it causes you problems. It seems to work very well for me.

5. Locate the file "C:\Bibliorom2\BShelf\Biblio2.exe" and right-click on it, then choose "Properties". Select the "Compatibility" tab and under "Compatibility mode" choose to run it in compatibility mode for Windows Vista (Service Pack 2). Uncheck the option to "Run as administrator" as it is not necessary and avoids the question during each launch of the program. Then validate by clicking the "OK" button.

6. Right-click again on the same file "C:\Bibliorom2\BShelf\Biblio2.exe" and choose "Create shortcut". This will create the shortcut in the same directory. You can rename it and move it to the desktop, for example.

7. Launch the Bibliorom program using this shortcut for the first time. It will ask you where the program's sources are located, and you must indicate the path to your local copy: "C:\Bibliorom2". Click "OK" and the program should open correctly. You should be able to type a word and see the options.

I hope I haven't forgotten anything.
