Hello,
I need to create a document where my text will be white on a transparent mauve/purple background.
I'm starting with InDesign and being self-taught in graphic design, there are certain points I have never tackled in my previous works, such as knockout, overprinting, and flattening transparencies.
Before preparing my document for printing, I need to know if I will need to prepare my white text... and whether or not I should intervene on the transparencies?...
Thank you in advance for your help! :)

De-bossing, overprinting, and transparency are different functions, each with a specific use.
- De-bossing is the removal of the color found beneath an object or text.
- Overprinting is the opposite of de-bossing. It leaves the colored surface underneath an object or text of another color.
- Transparency is the attenuation of the color or shape of the upper object or text compared to the one below it.
The text in "black on white" refers to white text (the color of the paper) placed on a colored surface or an image (even if it is not black). It is also improperly referred to as "de-bossed" text.
Be careful with the use of de-bossing and overprinting. If the appearance does not change visually on the screen, it is active during color separation and can yield disastrous results. Acrobat allows you to control these effects.

Do I need to do a "color separation" or does that happen automatically?...
I apologize for insisting, this is new to me, I admit I never paid attention to all this before, wrongfully... ;)
A small precaution.. be careful with the font you are going to use.. An "English" type font (with very thin lines) may get clogged due to the excessive ink coverage of the solid color.. so avoid that kind of typeface...
The color separation occurs during printing.
Once again, a thousand thanks for all these details Contrariness!!! :) ...Always there when it's needed!!! ;)
