Hello everyone,
In InDesign, is it possible to change the orientation of text (horizontal, vertical) within its own block? (without altering the orientation/rotation of the block itself).
Let me explain, I have several text blocks with specific shapes. Originally, they were simple shapes that I've modified their orientation/rotation, but now when I paste text into them, it is vertical.
I want to keep the orientation of the blocks as they are but have horizontal text inside.
I can work around this by placing a text block on top, etc., but I’m mostly looking to know if there’s a function in the software that allows changing the text orientation within the block without affecting the block itself.
Thank you for your help, have a great day.
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 84.0.4147.105

To my knowledge, no, since the pasted text takes on the characteristics of the text block where you paste it.
There might be a trick, but it could be a hindrance in case of modification..
Once you have pasted your text, you vectorize it, then you cut/paste it.. It should return to horizontal..
But since it is vectorized, it becomes difficult to modify...
