Excel file opening with symbols

Hello!

It turns out that an employee in my office has a problem with her Excel. Her file is indeed in XLS format. She absolutely needs to save it to see what is actually inside. If she opens it instead of saving it, it’s full of symbols, nothing is readable. It’s a bit frustrating for her because she works a lot with Excel and receives many emails every day.

Thank you.

    Hello,

This anomaly has the advantage of preventing him from accidentally saving his file in the temporary files folder...

    See you!

If it opens, does it open well with Excel or something else? If it's with something else, you'll need to redefine the default software.
If it's with Excel, that's mysterious... maybe reinstalling Excel.

Yes, even when it opens, it opens with Excel, but there's no grid, it's like a Word file.
I would have liked to find another way than to reinstall :( I'll try anyway to see, but I'm a bit doubtful.

Does she not have multiple versions of Excel installed?

It's all good, I found it :P Actually, when I went to see her, I looked too quickly and didn't take the time to look closely enough. In her Outlook, the files to open had the .xls extension, but Excel wasn't the default program. She had never touched that, so I just saved her file on the desktop and set it to always open with Excel. It was silly x.x thanks anyway :P
