Adidou game issue with Windows Vista

Hello, I bought a computer with Vista. I wanted to install a game called Adibou for my daughter, but it runs very poorly: sound cuts out, it refuses the 3D driving game. Windows message: cannot find the 3D application - reinstalling may fix the problem. Does anyone have any idea? I have attempted the reinstallation 4 times, without success. Thank you for your help because my 6-year-old daughter is crying for her game.
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 2.0.0.3

Hello,

there's a chance that the game wasn't designed for Windows Vista but for an earlier system (XP/2000/etc), resulting in it not working properly and there's not much we can do about it.

But there might be something to try, you should go to the game's installation folder and right-click on the executable (.exe) that launches the game, in the menu that opens select properties and look for a compatibility tab, check a box that says something roughly like: run in compatibility mode, and choose Windows XP and apply.

Just so you know, I'm not on Vista but I know that the option exists.

Thank you for replying. I followed your instructions, but at no point is there an .exe folder in the files.
I attempted a new installation and the following message appeared: the d3drm.dll folder cannot be found.
It is true that previously on XP the game worked well. I also think it is a compatibility issue with VISTA. That said, there are issues with VISTA, there are !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Almost nothing works (scanner, printer, webcam.......) So, I am looking for a Windows XP to replace VISTA on the computer. THANK YOU for your help.

Hello, I just read your message. I also have Adibou which works very well with Windows XP, and now that I have Windows 7, the latest one, nothing works anymore. It's still unacceptable because my daughter doesn't understand, and all the games will either have to be thrown away or sold! They could at least make games compatible with the new Windows! Thank you.

>They could at least make games compatible with the new Windows!!!!

Uh... Adibou was released back in the Windows 95 era, they couldn't have predicted what computing would be like 20 years later!

I might be a bit late, but I have a solution that works for VISTA:
Download d3drm.dll here https://www.fichier-dll.fr/d3drm.dll,609
Copy it to WINDOWS/System32/
Then go to its properties and click on unblock, then OK.

Then in COKTEL/Adibou2 select WLOADER.EXE then Properties/Compatibility and select Windows XP (SP 2), Run in 640*480, and finally "Run as administrator."

You are the best, it not only fixed the problem I had with Adibou, but also with other games I had... thank you very much...

Hi everyone, I hope I'm not too late on the issue. I resolved it by forcing the compatibility of the WLOADER application in Windows XP Service Pack 2 because the problem persists if you choose Windows XP Service Pack 3. It works for me with Windows 7.

Hello,

I am experiencing the same problem as you with an Adibou game on Windows VISTA (very poor sound quality, even inaudible).
Have you been able to resolve this issue, and if so, what is the solution?
Thank you for your response,

Sincerely,

Hello,

to try to do what maxgix indicates, you need to display the program extensions in the folder options of Vista.
To do this, click on "organize" when you are in a folder, then "folder and search options," and finally, in the view tab, uncheck the box "hide extensions for known file types" to find the .exe file.

Otherwise, another way to find it without this manipulation in the default view mode of Vista folders, a column displays "Type" at the top. You just need to take a look and find a file where it says "application" next to it.

Another solution, right-click on the game's launch icon in the Vista menu and properties, then in the general tab, it says "location." You just need to highlight the entire line and put it in a folder search to directly have the file in "view."

I have the same problem as with the game Adibou but for another game
machines: Wired for War by Acclaim.
It is designed to run on Windows 98.
And similarly, it asks me for the file d3drm.dll
I've tried following your advice by clicking on compatibility, but nothing works!

Bonjour, je voudrais savoir pourquoi le jeu Adibou ne marche pas. Dès que je veux aller quelque part, il me dit que le wloader a cessé de fonctionner. Ça me le fait à chaque fois. Je voudrais savoir comment corriger ça.

And that explains why no one has answered you.. the Marseille native.. if you can't understand that to get an answer you first have to know how to.. ask the question...

I would like to go to Adibou's house, but I'm getting a message that wloader.exe has stopped working. What should I do?

Hello, I sympathize with you for your daughter. It may be necessary, and I think, to download DirectX, that is to say "d3dx9_29.dll" and then copy and paste it into System32. I had this problem and it worked for me; I am on Windows 7, if this can help you. Best regards.

Hello

I have a similar problem with the Adibou/Adiboud'chou games:

When I install them on a PC running Windows 7 Pro 64, they work but the sound is very choppy, which is quite unpleasant. All the drivers are up to date for this PC.

On my PC (which is also running Windows 7 Pro 64), they work very well, no issues of this kind.

If you have any ideas, I'm interested!

Thank you for your help.

After searching for each computer, I had a bit enough. So I found an easy solution on Windows 7: Windows XP mode!

Microsoft had indeed thought of that!

Unfortunately, it doesn't work on the basic version of Windows 7 (which doesn't have the feature), but for the others:

- Install (download) the "Windows XP mode" (explained here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows?ui=en-US&rs=en-001&ad=US )

This mode actually allows you to have a real Windows XP system on your Windows 7 and run any program (even old ones) from Windows 7.

You actually have in the Windows 7 start menu the names of programs with "Windows XP mode" next to them. (The other programs installed on Windows 7 don't change, and you can always install whatever you want on Windows 7!)
The program will launch from Windows 7 as if you were on Windows 7, but it’s Windows XP that will be launched (virtually) and will run on Windows 7!

Hello,

in my case, on 32-bit Seven, I had the issue of choppy sound.
For me, only the XP Pack2 compatibility mode solved the problem.
