Thank you to anyone who can help me as I need it by tomorrow.

often due to "dirty stuff" stuck between the rings (sand and other debris)
try sliding a piece of stiff, thin plastic (like the wall of a water bottle) between the rings to clean
if that doesn't work, press firmly and straight on the lens while pressing OFF to retract it
there's also the possibility of a motor end-of-travel failure and for that, there's only customer service, if it's worth it (cost-wise)

About a year ago, my camera broke down; the zoom no longer worked and indicated: zoom system error. I went to customer service who advised me to buy another one because the repair was more expensive than the camera itself! Due to lack of funds, I didn’t buy another one, and I put mine in the closet... And then this morning, while tidying up my closet, I found my camera and thought: why not go on a forum to try to understand where the problem came from, and there !!!!!! I can't thank you enough, Hombourgeois !!!! After sliding in a piece of plastic and pressing as you described above, it worked !!!! To think that I almost got rid of it! Thanks again to everyone who takes their time to provide solutions!!!!!!!
