Hello,
and thank you for your help
I am transferring my VHS with Grabby from Terratec, but the color comes out in black and white and the image skips and is far from clear. WHAT TO DO? Ideal video setting: SECAM? PAL? WHAT TO CHOOSE
Can you help me? Thank you all!

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 27.0.1453.110

I found this
click on video settings a window opens, then click on command, another window opens then select on the small black arrow, click on PAL_B then scroll down to SECAM L_1 then click on apply and ok, all while scrolling through your VHS video.

the magneto? connected to a TV (color image? without any problems?)
if your image is correct (color/no jumps etc.) it’s in the settings of your "Grabby" that you need to look....

I tried both PAL and SECAM, but it's the same for both – still black and white!!!

Hello Glandu
In two words, no solution with my Terratec Grabby to get a color video because whether it's PAL or SECAM or anything else, the video remains desperately in black and white.
To better answer your question, the switch on my SCART output connection is indeed set to out.
The red/yellow and white cables are connected to this socket and to the Grabby digitization box, with the USB output going to my PC.
If I understand correctly, you are asking me not to connect these 3 cables but instead to connect the 4th one, which is not connected, the "black" one, because there are two female sockets.
Thank you for providing a bit more information.
I appreciate it.

Hello, to answer your question, the standard connection is a yellow RCA or a 4-pin S-video for video, and then the two remaining RCAs are for audio. The colors are either red and white for stereo or red and black; if you only connect the black, you will be in mono.

I was talking about a female black "S-video" connector, which is not connected because it is a female connector, and on the output of my SCART connector, there are connections for the yellow/red and white jacks and the same female connector as on the "grabby" that is "not connected".
Should this connector be connected using a male/male adapter?

Hello, I've already said what I think about those 4-wire keys

Analog video transfer box
Hello, to transfer the content of an analog VHS, VHS-C, 8mm, Hi8 tape, or an analog video stream, you need to connect the camcorder or VCR or another device to an "external box" that handles the "hardware" conversion of the "analog stream" into "digital" and connect the box to the computer via a USB cable. The file is converted to MPEG-2, a format easy to burn and compatible with all players, along with the possibility of editing with "Studio"
You connect the box and camcorder or VCR using an S-VHS connection (recommended) or composite (less good) (RCA yellow) and a cord for audio (2 RCA red, white). For the VCR, you need a SCART connection with an adapter or cord with the "out" direction or with an in-out switch output S-VHS or composite RCA yellow (less good) plus the sound, two RCA outputs red, white
Remember to select PAL for color
I recommend the Dazzle box either "Recorder" DVD only or Video HD, Creator, or Platinum depending on your needs if you want to "arrange" your films with titles and music
The price of the advanced editing software STUDIO 14 HD (value alone 61 €) provided with this box in "Creator" and "Platinum" versions makes the product interesting
It can also be found second-hand on the web and can be resold when you no longer need it
There are exotic products like USB keys and 4 wires, cheaper but be careful, they are often a source of headaches, reading messages from desperate members on the forum
The format being 4:3, the quality of the image can only be judged on the living room TV screen. The link:
