Good evening,

I just bought a new PC. I installed WINDOWS XP. Perfect. Then my internet connection, perfect. I mean I could surf perfectly.

I just downloaded WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER. And now, it's impossible to keep the IE page open! When I launch it, it opens and then closes immediately. I also noticed that I can't open SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL. That page won't open!

If any of you can help me... It's probably something simple but right now, I can't surf or move freely on my PC! It's not cool!!!

Thanks in advance.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

Hi everyone,
I have a problem too, which is that when I open my Internet Explorer, it closes immediately. However, I can connect to my MSN and all that, but I can't browse the internet.
So I would like to know what it comes from.
Thanks in advance

I had the same problem.
I uninstalled IE7 and reinstalled it, same thing
Since I mostly use Firefox, it didn't bother me too much.
The only small (??) problem was that the MSN messenger wouldn't open either!
So I searched the forums and found nothing.
I figured it out by myself:
Alright, I'm not keeping you waiting any longer.

I went to the control panel, then to internet options.
And by clicking on the "Advanced" tab I found the miracle button: "Reset".

Great, IE7 has been working very well since, so has MSN.

Oh yes, it's often down to a few small things... That said, I still don't understand why IE7 suddenly started messing up, just like that, for no reason!!

Happy to have been able to bring you THE solution!

Thank you to Groub for this excellent discovery that still brings joy to those who are struggling to find the solution. I don't know how, why, or when this problem came about, considering I use Mozilla Firefox 98% of the time.
The application of the formula allows for impeccable and immediate functioning. Thank you.

Hello, same issue and I think I've found a solution. The use of the note organizer Encarta was causing this phenomenon. Deleting an old version of Encarta from the hard drive resolved the issue (in my case).

Same problem after installing FlashGet ........ Certainly the source of my issue ..... or perhaps browsing the Cdiscount site which causes a lot of bugs in IE and several times I was on this site during the uncontrollable opening of IE pages ...

See you later

In fact, for me, the problem arose after installing ADSL TV, which works very well, but it must have modified some settings in IE7.

I also had this problem, here is the solution:

To solve this issue, re-register the IEProxy.dll file. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Exit Internet Explorer 7 if it is running.
2. Click on Start, then Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
3. At the command prompt, type the following commands, pressing Enter after each command.
cd\programfiles\Internet Explorer (if it doesn't work, try with uppercase and/or lowercase and the / or the reversed /, I had to make several attempts to get it) (you can type dir to get a list of directories...and/or programs in the directories)
type the following command with a space:
regsvr32 IEProxy.dll (with a space between the two)
exit
4. Start Internet Explorer 7.

Hello everyone

If I'm here, it's because I have a problem, so here it is
I have a friend who has a PC with Windows XP and IE8, and when we open IE, the page opens but freezes right away, and then we can't do anything. I haven't tried the group solution yet, but if anyone has another idea, please let me know. Thanks everyone xx

Hello everyone, I have a problem similar to others but with the only difference that I can open Explorer, but after that the keyboard works in the command line but not in the content. For example, I can't type the name and code on Yahoo. Thank you for your help.

Good evening,

If the problem occurred recently,
perform a system restore (you will lose all the software
you installed before).

Good luck, see you later

Hi again,

You can check your antivirus and antispyware first.
