Unable to log into Windows Solved/Closed

Question

Hello everyone. When I try to log in, I get a message that says "The User Profile Service failed the logon.  " Unable to load the user profile" So I can't access my account anymore. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? If someone knows, thank you very much for replying.

Restart in Safe Mode.  Then, click on Start\ type Run\ , type "regedit.exe" to open the registry. Expand the branch  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\  Locate the key beginning with S-1-5..... and having a large number of digits ending with .bak.  Look for another key starting with S-1-5 that has exactly the same values but without the .bak at the end,  then just rename it by adding .bak at the end, and remove the .bak from the key that contained it,  (By right-clicking on them and then Rename).  Exit and restart.

Hello,  I have the same problem, but when looking in the registry, I can't find any session with .bak  If I try to create a new profile, that one goes through without a problem, but when opening the session (and creating it, since it's the first opening), it gets stuck displaying the same error message "cannot open..."  Since the session has never opened, it doesn't get created in the Windows registry, making it impossible to modify the file.  Any hints??? Thanks  Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 9.0

Hello,  Read this FAQ: https://www.malekal.com/votre-session-a-ete-ouverte-avec-un-profil-temporaire/  It could be your antivirus, Antivir is good at generating this type of issue by locking the NTUser.dat file Malwarebytes also causes these problems on Windows 10 (it will be fixed in the next version https://forum.malekal.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=57343 version > 3.0.6).  Check if the problem occurs or not in safe mode. If it works in safe mode, it's a program causing the issue like your antivirus, uninstall it.
