Packard Bell Windows 7 stuck on startup

Hello everyone,

I bought a Packard Bell PC with win8 OEM. I wanted to install Windows 7 instead, but when booting from the installation DVD, the PC gets stuck on "starting windows" (secure boot disabled in the BIOS).

I then performed the installation from win8 by choosing a new installation.

The installation went well, but upon rebooting, I have exactly the same issue, getting stuck on "starting windows."

Did I forget an option in the BIOS, or could it be due to this cursed manufacturer tattooing issue?

Thank you in advance for all your suggestions.

Jules.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 19.0

I found the solution.

I had to set the CMS option to "always" in the BIOS!

So, I'm proud of myself; I had some doubts when posting in the BIOS forum, but it was indeed a good insight!

Thanks anyway to those who read my post but didn't have any answers to offer.

See you!

Jules.

Thank you very much j2djib.
Packard Bell has indeed camouflaged things well, your technique is very good.
So when we apply it, we switch the BIOS to "legacy" mode.

Could you provide more details about where to go to do this, as I'm having the same problem? Please.
