Packard Bell boot issue black screen

Hello,

I just encountered the same problem with my Easynote ML65 laptop, coincidentally, 2 months after the warranty expired;
it's a computer I took care of, I only used it to surf the net, no issues before, no weaknesses, and yet!!!! Suddenly the screen went black, it restarted once without a problem, and since then nothing; when I turn it on, the power button is lit as is the Wi-Fi button, I hear two short beeps at startup, then the fans, but the screen remains desperately black,
I tried everything, starting without the battery, pressing power for 30 seconds then restarting on AC only or with the battery; letting the battery fully discharge and trying again; launching a CD (it spins, yes, but nothing more); letting it charge fully; removing and cleaning the RAM;... Nothing works, I don't have access to the BIOS so F11 F8 ... have no effect;
I saved up to buy this computer, and I didn't buy a disposable laptop, at this price damn it (and I'm being polite), it's infuriating and what do I have left?
Is there no recourse for Packard Bell to react even if the warranty has expired (by only 2 months)
Thanks to anyone who can advise me or indicate how they resolved their issues since I realize we are many in this situation; I bought a computer, not for it to last 1 year so I don't intend to buy a new one right away.

Try removing a memory stick, preferably the one on top (it's easier)
It worked for me, the pc starts up.

However, based on the description of the problem: "I have to press and hold the power button for a long time, and then try again
for it to work (one time out of two)
I have to lower and raise the laptop screen up and down during startup, for it to work, otherwise, no luck
once it’s on, there are no screen issues or anything else"

I think it’s the video cable that is defective or poorly connected...

Hi, I have the same problem as you except now the screen won't turn on anymore. I think it’s burnt out. It’s the 17" screen with built-in speakers, and it says "Callisto 190" on the back.

if you have an Nvidia 8600 GS graphics card, it's likely that it is burned out. Like many people before me, I had this issue in July with a PB Easynote SJ 81.
I filed a complaint (since this is a known defect of the graphics card) but I am still awaiting a response from PB.
The best course of action would first be to ensure that it is indeed a graphics card issue (you might want to call the Packard Bell customer support at 08 92 70 09 21, which can assist with diagnosis), and then file a complaint by mail with acknowledgment of receipt to Packard Bell Customer Service Claims, 200 Av Général Patton, BP70645, 49006 Angers.
If it's indeed this issue, it constitutes a hidden defect.

Hello, my problem is different, the computer I have, a Packard Bell Easynote, starts up but stays on the first screen and then makes a lot of beeping sounds, indicating that I pressed the F12 key when I didn't. I then press the F8 key, but it shows me a lot of programs before directing me to the page to open my computer... And then surprise, when I want to type my password, the keys input a letter 10,000 times... What should I do??? URGENT please!

I turn on my Packard Bell laptop, I see just the "Packard Bell" logo that comes up and then disappears to leave a black screen, with no mouse pointer, nothing.

I have tried several solutions but nothing works. It happened to me once after 8 days and I had to use the warranty to exchange the laptop. Now I would do the same but unfortunately, the warranty expired 4 days ago... and yes, irony of fate!

The customer service told me to insert the reinstallation CD, "master CD," I think. But I don't have that CD, it was never provided to me, and the first time I wasn't asked for it!!

If anyone has a quick solution, it would be really great to share it with us! As a graphic designer, I obviously need my computer every day, so it's a hassle!

I had the same problem on Friday. In the morning, the computer was working perfectly (it’s been like that for 2 years and 2 months). But on Friday afternoon, when I turned it back on, there was a black screen, the little blue lights were on but nothing was happening. After several attempts, it doesn’t even turn on anymore!

I was told there was an adapter to recover data from the hard drive, do you know anything about that?
Otherwise, I imagine that if I want to get it repaired, it’s going to cost a fortune?

Hello, I also had it and I had to hold down the power button for 10 seconds, it lasted me 6 months, now my screen is doubled and it won’t work anymore, my husband tells me it’s the motherboard, I think I need to buy another one.

Hello everyone, I have the same issue, indeed I also have a black screen but lacking brightness, I mean, either it's an LED that has overheated due to battery overload. This can happen to laptops.
I will find out to give you the answer.

everything is fine but the laptop screen is black... luckily I was able to connect it to my TV screen (and it works) but it’s not practical at all =/

I have the same problem. My Packard Bell Easynote (which is two and a half years old) is showing a black screen. I tried the trick of unplugging the battery and the power supply and holding down the power button for 10 seconds; it worked once, but then it went back to the "Black Screen". Right now, I have it connected to a regular screen using a VGA cable and I'm using it as a desktop computer, which at least allowed me to confirm that the hard drive, graphics card, and memory are fine except for the screen. I will check how much a new screen will cost.

I have the same problem. A year ago, just a few days after the warranty ended: black screen and nothing else except the sound of the fan! Back to customer service for a motherboard replacement.
A year later, the same thing: black screen, fan noise! I took it back to customer service, and they need to replace the motherboard again; there seems to be a short circuit (at least that's what I was told Grrrrrr...). I tried to turn it on again, and occasionally, it manages to start. When it works, there are no problems, it works fine (so I don't believe the motherboard has a short circuit). I tried different things suggested on this site like:
1. Disassembling the radiator and fan that cool the microprocessors. It’s true that there was a lot of dust in the radiator (the cooling must not have been great!).
2. I tried to check the small switch that is activated when the screen is closed, but I didn't see anything particular.
3. I took out the RAM, put them back in by switching 1 and 2 (they are the same), but still nothing. I think it’s not a big deal, but we need to find out what it is!
If you have any other ideas, I’m all ears!

last night, I had to manually turn off my PC because the Windows update on shutdown was taking too long
as a result, when I turn it on, I always get the mauve Packard Bell screen as well as the little Windows logo that appears and disappears like every time. After that, nothing!!! Just a black screen where only my mouse pointer is visible
I tried to restore it to zero using the installation DVDs that I had to make during the first startup, but it doesn't work, the computer keeps rejecting the CD
what solution do I have for this problem?

Since last night I have the same problem.
My laptop was working normally when suddenly a blue screen appeared with text in English, I barely had time to read that my PC shut down. It restarted by itself but nothing was displayed. Not even the display to access the BIOS. After several minutes, I turned off my PC but when I turned it back on, still the same problem. Impossible to display anything on the screen. The screen remains black.

I hope someone will have the solution. Otherwise, I would at least like to recover my documents.

Same problem since last week, the guy told me that all the easynotes (the packard bells) have this problem sooner or later... Well, he managed to repair it for me (lucky me ^^"), but it doesn't happen every time...

And when we manage to fix it, this breakdown costs a lot... 59 euros... =(
