Packard Bell stuck on startup

Hello,

A friend lent me her Packard Bell Easynote LV11 running on Win 8.
The problem is that it gets stuck at the "Packard Bell" logo at the start.
Aside from the logo, there is no information requested like choosing to access the BIOS, for example. I still tried pressing F1, F2, F5, F8, F10, F11, F12, but nothing happens.

I removed the hard drive and connected it with an external disk reader to my PC. I can see it, but when I try to access it, after a few seconds of searching, a window opens asking me to format it.

Is the hard drive dead, or is there a way to save it?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

    Hello,

If it gets stuck at the PB logo, then it's not the HDD that's at fault; rather, it's a post (motherboard) issue.
Try doing a power cycle: unplug the battery and the charger -> press the power button for 30 seconds -> restart
Second step: unplug/replug the memory sticks if you can.

    Keep us posted.

      Hello momri,

Thank you for your advice, but in my case, it doesn't work. Too bad for me.

If you know how to do it, I recommend performing a clear CMOS: disconnect/reconnect the battery (or the jumper) on the motherboard.

1- Battery unplugged, waited 1 minute, reinserted the battery.
      2- Started without the battery.

None of these 2 procedures allowed the PC to restart. Still the Packard Bell logo.

It must be the motherboard.. try contacting Packard Bell's hotline, maybe they will offer a reasonably priced repair if your PC is out of warranty...
