Updates each time my PC shuts down.

Hello,

It has been a few months now that my PC (running Windows 7) installs updates

every time I shut it down. At first, there was 1 out of 1, then it kept going

like that, and I thought it would stop by itself. However, after 1, 2, 3 months, there were more and more, from 1 out of 1 we went to 1 out of 32, and today we’re at 39!

I have to wait for at least 30 minutes for these damn updates to install, the people around me tell me, "Don't worry, it will pass by itself,"
but after 6 months like this, it starts to feel suspicious.
Thank you for paying attention to my ad and helping me please! ^^

Hello,

there may be more or less updates depending on the number of corrections Microsoft makes. It's up to you to ask Windows how often to install them.

In Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Update, go to Change settings. Then choose which day and at what time to install updates every week.

Don't forget to confirm by clicking OK.

Thank you for responding. First of all, I must tell you that I followed the instructions you advised, but the problem persists and updates continue to install every day!

Hello,

Here is a detailed article on update issues: https://www.commentcamarche.net/informatique/windows/211-regler-les-echecs-de-mises-a-jour-de-windows/#top

NB: for Windows 7: Microsoft Fix it resolves many issues regarding updates.

Do not use Dial-A-Fix which is for XP and earlier versions of Windows

Best regards

Thank you for replying. But I must clarify that some days when I turn off my PC, no updates are installed. Is this normal? Should I just wait?

It's the number of updates that makes me think there is a problem.
Either the updates are failing to install or the new updates being offered are already fully or partially installed.

You just need to check by looking at the list of installed updates on the PC.

Control panel => Programs => Programs and Features => Installed updates.

Hello,

Could you provide a bit more detail?
What exactly did you do and did you check if the suggested updates were already installed?
How many updates are offered to you after installation?

Hello
Set your updates to manual instead of automatic.
This way, you can see what needs to be installed and choose what you want to install.

Hello,
sorry, I don't understand what you want me to do. In the meantime, I'm going to do a restoration, but I can't remember when this started.
See you later.

I didn't find any solution, but I think you should try the methods above.
Because these tips are very helpful, it's just me who can't manage it (figuratively speaking).
If it works, please let me know.

Hello,

"If it works, please let me know"

If I'm suggesting it to you, it's because it has already worked for others.
By browsing the forum, you'll find quite a few cases where Microsoft Fix It has resolved the issue.

Hello, as a temporary solution I have changed the configuration from automatic installation to searching for updates but letting me choose if I want to install them. When I turn off my computer, there are no more updates; I have to go to Windows Update to authorize.
The problem is that for now, it is still the same updates that Windows is offering me and I still do not know why.
If anyone knows why, they are welcome to share.
Thank you all.

See this.

Go to: C\windows\softwaredistribution\download, delete all the content in download. Restart and see what happens.

You haven't messed with any Net Frameworks by chance!

Hello, it's done, nothing has changed, Windows Update keeps offering me the same updates, over and over again, I see in the history that these are indeed the same updates.
Thanks anyway.

Can you take a screenshot of your updates and post it?
Because you might have this.
See the image, it's exactly the same except that the KB is different.

A screenshot, you don't know what that is!! It's an image of your screen with what's on it, like in my link.

And did you check my link, are the codes for your updates the same or different?

Indeed, I hadn't seen your link.

Sorry, I can't capture the screen showing the update history.
The only way I've found is to disable automatic updates and to prevent updates each time. It's not a permanent solution, but that's all I can think of to stop the same updates from happening.
Any other ideas?
Thanks.
