Various updates too long on W10 Solved

Question

Hello everyone!

While browsing the forums, I realize that I am not the only one with this problem.

Updates from Windows Update and various drivers and software take a really long time on one of my two computers with W10.
(I do not experience this issue on my second computer with W10; nor, for that matter, on the one with W7)

This concerns both the checking or searching for updates and the downloading and installation of them.

Of course, I'll let the checks be done; but there are also downloads and installations, which take a long time.

The most annoying part is that my computer is extremely slow under these conditions and it's very difficult to work quickly or use the computer for anything else.

I just checked Windows Update. Yes, yesterday there was an update 1903 for W10.
But it's not just the updates on Windows Update.

For example, the Nvidia driver is also very slow to download and install.

Or an update for any other software installed on my computer.

Because it is really very frustrating to want to work urgently and be slow on the computer.
Certainly, with Windows XP, it was definitely better, but also with Windows 7, which I miss a lot.

However, I would like you to also answer my other question from my previous post:
- why are the updates (downloads and installations) of drivers and software (from each of the relevant websites and not from Windows Update) also very long?

Knowing that on my other computer with W10, I have no issues with slowness, neither with Windows Update, nor with the drivers and software.

Hello,

Right-click on the Windows icon in the start menu
Choose system
Look on the page that opens to see which version of Windows you are on. (1903 being the latest)
Please tell us your version

Depending on the PC (power), if updates are not going well, it uses resources which also slows down the rest.

I just opened my new computer (from 2019) with W10 and everything is going super well and even ultra-fast!

The 1903 update is really very fast on this one as well as the other driver and software updates (downloads and installations).

The first W10 computer (with slowness) is older (2016) and much less powerful because I use it as a backup computer when I travel.

I conclude that this slowness probably comes from the performance and technical specifications of each computer.

But it's already done; I've already disabled unnecessary software at startup.
I'll check again as soon as possible.

As I mentioned in a previous post, the occasional slowness (because it’s not every day) on this little backup computer must be due to its performance.
It's like day and night compared to my other main W10 computer, which is really ultra-powerful.
