Hello,
While cleaning my computer equipment, I tilted my "HP 970 cxi" printer to dust it off. I noticed that a black liquid was leaking onto the furniture on the right side of the printer, where the cartridges are located when they are at rest. I then turned on the printer to move the carriage, which allowed me to remove the cartridges. After an hour, there was still liquid on the furniture. I decided to tilt the printer and rinse it with hot water under the sink because there was a mixture of black materials. After this operation, I dried the printer with a hairdryer and waited a day before plugging it back in. When I pressed the right button, the green light came on, but the carriage is stuck on the left side, and I'm hesitant to reconnect this printer to the PC. Are there any people who have experienced this problem of black liquid leaking? Shaking the two uninstalled ink cartridges revealed no liquid coming out. I wonder what really happened? Is there a repair technician in the Orne department who could service this equipment? Thank you for any responses you provide me.

Good evening,
... generally, we "avoid" getting electronic equipment wet, especially when the control systems use stepper motors! ... electronics and water are not compatible at all!
The reservoir you mentioned must be a receptacle for collecting the cleaning residues from the print heads!
Now that your system is blocked, a complete disassembly must be considered to replace or unjam (which I doubt) the defective part or parts!
The cost of printers does not justify, in my opinion, a repair that would be more expensive than the price of a new one!
Best regards

Thank you very much for your advice. I am trying to print the page you sent me. The carriage has returned to its original position but it ejected some pages with unreadable characters, a problem I have encountered before. I will try again tomorrow. Can I add a few drops of lubricant to the rail that allows the carriage to move? What you are referring to might be a reservoir for waste because I have had this printer for at least 5 years and I had already noticed some residue, but not to this extent.
Thank you again for your advice
