No sound on Safari

Hello,

a cry for help like a bottle in the sea...
So here it is, when I turned on my Mac (MacBook, Tiger) this morning, I found myself without sound on Safari (for example: Dailymotion, the Sonic Youth website, connection to Messenger, etc...) while iTunes, Skype are working fine for instance.

I have no idea where the problem is coming from. Last night, I installed Audacity which I then sent to the trash, thinking that the problem was coming from there... I then shut down and restarted the system. Nada, no change.

Help!!!

Thank you.
Configuration: Mac Os X Tiger

I had a sound problem like that too, try this:

* Go to Applications/Utilities, open "Audio MIDI Setup"
* Click on "Properties for: Built-in Output" and in the Audio Output section check that the field "Format:" has "44100.0 Hz" and 2ca-16bit; if it was already like that, sorry I couldn't help you.

PS: Think of the users on MacBidouille.com forums, I still find them more experienced (don't hit me ^^)

Thank you, I had this problem! I thought it was due to plug-in issues (Flash...) because the sounds in VLC, iTunes, QuickTime, System were working, only those in Safari, Firefox, Camino, Explorer weren't working... Indeed, in Utilities "Audio and MIDI Setup", the values were at 96000 instead of 44100...

yes, Acquisition or other programs disrupt it like that.

just a thank you to people like you who take the time to solve others' problems. I often notice that virtual and free solidarity works better than concrete and paid solidarity (all the support funds, etc...) anyway, I’m not going to start a debate, but thanks a thousand times again...

Well, you're welcome! It's nice to be thanked like that! If not many people help, there are even fewer who say thank you!
