PC VGA connection - HDMI screen

Hello,

I am looking to connect my PC via the VGA output of the video card to a Philips LCD screen. It has a scart and HDMI input. The user manual states the need to purchase a DVI - HDMI cable, which seems absurd to me, as the output from the video card is VGA. Would using a VGA-DVI adapter solve the problem? I'm worried about compatibility issues or signal quality loss (analog to digital conversion).

I am calling on everyone's experience and expertise.

Thank you.

Well guys, here’s the solution if you don’t want to be bothered!!

Install a VGA to HDMI converter
It will cost you about ten euros, not including the connection cables.
Image and sound on the TV screen, isn’t that nice...

Alright, good luck and your notebook. lol

I bought this converter but one problem persists:
plasma screen 16/9 Panasonic and laptop 16/9 Toshiba => the image that appears on the TV is repeated one and a half times. The Windows desktop appears completely and is also repeated on the right...
Even when changing the screen size settings on the laptop, nothing changes...

You must have some settings to adjust on your TV too; when I connected my new desktop PC via HDMI, all the settings were fine for my computer, but it wasn't centered, so I had to adjust it on my TV.
