Presenter mode Solved

Question

Hello,   I want to use the Presenter View in PowerPoint To do this, I connected my laptop to a projector... the display works fine and I followed the steps in this link  https://www.commentcamarche.net/contents/1837-powerpoint-mode-presentateur  but the problem is with step 2. In the Display Settings dialog box, my computer does not detect both monitors so that I can choose the main one  What do you think is causing this? And how can I solve the problem? Good evening,  In principle, with a laptop, you have a key that allows you to display on two cloned monitors.  Otherwise, with Windows 7, the keyboard shortcut Windows + P allows you to choose the display.  m@rina -- - "On the office forum, we ask questions about office software..." - "Oh really???"

@ Raymond: The projector displays exactly the same image as the laptop screen.I will clarify further:When I check the option "Use Presenter View" in the Slide Show tab of ppoint, it shows me the following message:"This function requires multiple monitors, but only one has been detected. To check if your computer can use multiple monitors, click the Check button."When I click on check, it shows me the display settings box.Normally it should display two monitors, one with number 1 and the other with number 2, but it only shows one screen and there is neither 1 nor 2.@ marina: I am using Windows XP.

OK.  I don't know about XP, but in Vista, the Control Panel offers a Personalization section, where you can check "Connect to a projector or another external display device"; and there, you will find the button "Connect a monitor". Look for the equivalent on your computer. -- Retirement is great! Especially in the Caribbean... :-) &#9787; Raymond &#9794;

Hello, I found out why the computer didn't detect the two monitors... I just formatted it and some drivers weren't installed... When I installed the missing drivers, the computer detected both monitors. Now, for the second monitor (the one connected to the projector), when I select it in the display properties window and check "Extend to this monitor", once I click on Apply, that box automatically becomes unchecked... and so I can't use the presenter mode in PowerPoint.  What do you think is the problem?

Clarify what you mean by "I can't manage to use presenter mode": What do you do? What happens? At what moment does it go wrong? -- It's nice, retirement! I will try to do that. "I can't manage to use presenter mode": that is to say this mode doesn't activate (the "presenter mode" box doesn't get checked)  Best regards

So, I finally understood why this mode doesn't activate. I have a small icon next to the system time called "Intel extreme graphics 2 for mobile", which allows me to change the graphics properties of the computer. The Duplicate option is checked by default, allowing the same image to be displayed simultaneously on both the laptop and the projector. So what I did was select the Extended desktop option, which also lets me choose which screen is the primary and which is the secondary. This way, my problem is solved and the "Show presentation on" option in the monitor group of the slideshow tab becomes enabled, and I can also check the "Use presenter mode" box in the same group, and the presenter display is perfect. Thank you so much for your help.
