Hello,

Following the change of all the phones in my company, I took the opportunity to get an Alcatel 4019 to install it at my home. After connecting it to the box (bbox Bouygues), I have no dial tone and none of the phone's buttons work. There are just numbers on the screen with the model number.

I noticed that there is an adhesive on the back of the phone that says: "This terminal is intended to be connected only to an Alcatel PBX."

However, the IT guy at work told me it would work on my ADSL and box...

Can you let me know if it is possible to get it to work on a box and if so, what are the manual steps to bypass the PBX?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 8.0.1

It is listed as a digital phone, so it will not work on an analog line.

I thought that the connections on the box were specifically digital...

No, the connection to a box is analog, or you need to connect an Ethernet terminal that uses the SIP protocol. But with SIP, you no longer go through the telephone network.
