Hello,
I have been having problems with my F4280 printer since I installed it on an HP computer with Windows 7. Originally, the printer was installed on XP and worked perfectly.
I have installed the updated driver several times without success. I tried stopping and restarting the print spooler, still with no real success. I managed to print a test page, which was impossible before. I am trying to print documents from the internet; the printer responds, but nothing prints, or I receive a message saying that no printer is installed, and the spooler remains empty.
When I try to print a document in Word, in the "Print" window, the printer status is "inactive," and when I click on "find a printer," the error message "Active Directory directory services are currently unavailable" appears. If I click on "Print," the message "Unable to print: Printer configuration problem..." displays.
When I try to print a photo, I get a message saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working and closes my image file."
Please help me someone
Thank you.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Safari 535.1

Hello;
I suggest you perform a clean and complete uninstallation of this printer using Revo Uninstaller, disconnect all printer connections, restart the machine, and perform a new installation from the HP F4280 website, ensuring you validate your operating system, and only reconnect the cables when prompted by the system during this new installation.
If issues persist >> Consult the "Troubleshoot a problem or Installation" sections.
Thank you for coming back to the Forum to let us know if this resolved the issue or not.
Best regards.-

Hello;
I'm sorry, but the link I gave you yesterday was the wrong one because it was for an HP C4280 and not an HP F4280 >> I’ve updated the link address >> See the new link further up, and I suggest once again that you do a new uninstallation and try to set everything up again
As for the sections "Resolve a problem and Installation," they are on the given link and you need to expand all that to look for and maybe find the cause of your issues

Thank you for the update, but it's not an installation issue, as I initially used the correct driver version. I'm on my sixth installation.
What's strange is that the Solution Center utility indicates that the printer is normal and successfully sent a copy for cartridge alignment, and it's possible to print a test page from the machine's properties. As for the rest, the printer does not exist...?

Hello;
Sorry for you, but I have no other solutions to offer you except the one, if not already done, to try installing this printer not from the HP site but directly via Windows by adding the printer and see if it appears in the proposed list and is recognized by Windows 7, or the ultimate solution >> Contact HP >> but apparently already done and (Here as well)
Regarde this link same this one > Check out the entire topic of these 2 links
