Hello everyone,
I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8500. Overnight, when I try to print, it makes a very strange noise (like "TACTACTACTAC") and then an error message indicates that there is a paper jam.
I checked, there is no paper anywhere!
Even when I restart a print job without any paper in the tray, it makes the noise again and indicates a paper jam.
I saw the part that makes this infamous noise, I don’t know what it’s called or what it does. It’s a part that is located on the horizontal axis of the carriage, it rotates and allows a gear to be placed in different positions. It’s not designed to go all the way around the axis, it’s blocked by the metal frame. However, when I try to print, it tries to go all the way around, it hits the frame, that’s what makes the noise, and then it gives me the error message.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Thanks in advance.

I had bought a Canon, which still works very well today. By the way, that's the solution to my problem ^^
