Hello everyone,
unable to print, following a carriage jam indication even though I have no paper jams or broken parts.
I'm at my wits' end, which wasn't very thick to begin with.
Thanks to the good Samaritan.

I had the same issue, constantly getting the error message "carriage jam." I tried everything, went through all the forums, and followed almost all the advice :) To no avail :(
And finally, I figured out what was causing the problem:
underneath the carriage, there is a small black rubber tray that moves back and forth when the carriage positions itself to start printing.
I pushed it inside after turning off the printer and moving the carriage to the left, and I saw that there was ink that must have dripped little by little over the course of the prints.
I cleaned everything with alcohol, making sure to focus on the small metal shaft, and I immediately noticed that this black "tray" now moved very easily (which makes sense: there was no more ink causing a buildup). Consequently, it no longer jammed the carriage.
My HP PSC 1610 printer is working again!
