Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics vs Nvidia

Hello,
I have an Asus Notebook K52Jc series laptop with Windows 7 64 bits and an Intel Core i5 processor.
It is equipped with two graphics cards: an Intel HD Graphics chipset and an Nvidia GeForce 310m. The Nvidia card is much more powerful than the Intel HD Graphics card, but unfortunately, it's the latter that seems to limit my PC's performance. As a result, I can't play the various games I've bought that should run with the Nvidia card.
I have already updated the drivers for both cards, I tried disabling the Intel HD Graphics card, but the graphics then reverted to what they look like during a safe mode startup (the Nvidia card does not take over, even though it is enabled). I have also manually configured the programs one by one in the Nvidia settings to run with the Nvidia card, but that doesn't work either.
In short, I don't see what solution I could find.
I would like to know if it is physically possible to remove this Intel HD Graphics card? If so, will the graphics then be handled by the Nvidia card? If I ask a repair technician to change my graphics card, can they remove both and replace them with a more powerful one?
Thank you for your help as I am not very knowledgeable about computers.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Safari 534.30

there is a monitoring of NVIDIA activities in the options of the dedicated control panel, checking it makes it appear in the taskbar.
it shows the applications that have been assigned to this or that GPU.
for my part, neither VLC nor KMP can run on the NVIDIA, however Steam or Firefox and plugins are well configurable. it's better than nothing.
