Hello,
I browsed the HP website without finding out how to contact HP by email?? There's everything ... except email contact ... So I registered on this FORUM
I have an issue with my HP Pavilion DV7 2030ef .... I would like to start in "Safe Mode" my Windows VISTA ...
But among all the options provided by the boot menu (the escape key), starting with the F8 key is IMPOSSIBLE
There's F1 ... F2 ... F9 ... F11 and ESC
I managed to boot from a DVD, then from an UBUNTU Live CD ... but I can't start in Safe Mode??
Is there a solution please? Because I absolutely need to boot my Windows in this mode
Thank you for your response
Jean Pierre

I started the PC and when the screen turned gray I pressed the F5 key ... then the F8 key .....
And my PC started in safe mode .... Thank you because it worked!
I also found two other solutions
1) By going through the start menu and the "run" command then "msconfig"
Go to system configuration then the startup tab and check in the Boot Options the boxes "Safe boot" and "Minimal"
Then after fixing the issue that concerned me, come back and uncheck the same boxes! To reset it to how it was before
2) By going to My Computer Properties Advanced Startup and Recovery Settings Modify "operating system" and behind the word /NoExecute=Optin press Enter and add a command line to the [boot loader] file
By putting a safeboot:minimal
Thank you again for your help
