HDMI problem: no signal on my TV. Solved/Closed

Hello,

I just bought a 1.5m HDMI cable to watch movies and series on my TV from my laptop, but the TV displays "no signal"!!! I have spent hours looking on several forums, I tried changing the resolutions, etc. Often, the problem for others is the opposite, the laptop not detecting the TV. What should I do?? I have an Acer with Vista and NVIDIA GeForce 9300 M GS and an LED LG TV, thank you for any help you can provide!

I’m far from being an expert, but I think I’ve found the right menu and the solution.... Indeed, my Samsung was working very well with my daughter's HP... And then crash boom UUUU.
Here's what works:

go to control panel
personalization tab...
click on the link that appears in the left menu bar of the screen linking to connect an external projector or other device.
in the new window, click on detect a new monitor

At this point, it's good to have connected your TV to one of the HDMI outputs (I used HDMI3, but Samsung recommends the one used for the DVD player)

the system then detects the new monitor and .... two screens appear.
the system asks if you want to extend the display to both screens...

So you have to say YES.
And then miraculous, the entire desktop appears on the TV...
All that’s left is to choose a good movie to stream....

Hello, Switch your TV to TV mode, then turn it off. Connect the HDMI cable, then turn the TV back on, then the PC.

I have the same problem connecting my Samsung TV PS51D450ZF to my HP PC with its NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics card.

At first, when I go to the source menu on my TV, no matter how hard I try to keep it on HDMI, it switches back to PC after a few seconds.

Then I did everything possible and imaginable that I found on various forums.

All my drivers are up to date; I have also changed the HDMI cable, changed the resolutions, and set up desktop extensions...

My PC recognizes my TV (since it shows Samsung), but not the other way around.

If anyone has a solution, I'm all ears!

well, it almost scared me to see that I had the same problem with the same devices..

it's the damn screensaver that messes them up..
right click on the desktop; configure the switchable graphics; and choose full graphics.. and magic
it works!
