My computer doesn't detect my phone. Solved

Hello,
My laptop (Asus) does not detect my phone (Samsung Galaxy Ace) when I connect it via USB cable. I don't get any messages and I can't find my phone anywhere. However, it is still charging. This is very annoying because I cannot transfer music/videos/photos between my computer and my phone. Please help me!

You need to change the connection cable: some are only for power.

Check that the driver is properly installed by reinstalling Samsung Kies.

Enable USB storage:

2.3 (Gingerbread) notification bar / “Connect via USB” / “Enable USB storage”
4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Settings / Device / Storage / USB connection to computer / “MTP”
Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean): Notification bar / Connect via USB / Enable USB storage
Android 5.0 / 5.1 (Lollipop): Notification bar / USB connection to computer / Media device (MTP)
Android 6.0 (Marshmallow): Notification bar / USB connection to computer / Media device (MTP)

You know if you want to save your data on your SD card, as long as your computer doesn't detect your phone, turn it off, remove your SD card, put it in the Micro SD adapter, then plug it into your computer if it has a card reader.

I had the same problem, so I bought a new battery and it worked. Now I'm connected :)
