Facebook confirmation not received by SMS? Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,
I just signed up for Facebook, they asked for my mobile number for confirmation? There wasn't an option for France, so I clicked on the popup, and they detected my country of residence, so +33, and in the box below, I added my mobile number.
The problem is that I think I made a mistake; I should have entered 6 directly and not 06 since there was +33 in the box above.
So I didn't receive the SMS for the confirmation code, and at the bottom it says if you haven't received your confirmation code, click here. When I click, it asks me to log in with my password, and then we go back to the same problem where they ask for the confirmation code received via SMS. It's a real mess; if anyone has an idea on how I can reset my phone number and receive the confirmation code?

I had exactly the same problem that usually happens to people who use a pseudonym instead of their real name!

My issue was resolved as follows:

If this happens to you, it's because when entering your mobile phone number, you put zero, whereas Facebook asks for the country code (for France it starts with +33) so you just need to continue with 6 10 11 12 13 and not 06 10 11 12 13!

Since I couldn't log back in because I tried several random codes to return to a page that would allow me to re-enter my phone number, my account was suspended and I couldn't log back in because it kept asking for the code that I never received!

I then let an entire weekend pass without trying to log in and surprise, on Monday morning when I tried again, I had the box "to receive your code enter your phone number" and another box asking if I preferred to be called, so I chose the second option and immediately received a call with the code!

I was then able to deactivate my account!!!

Moral of the story: wait a few days before trying to log in again or desperately trying random codes!

I am adding the response I received from FB following my first complaint email:
"Hello,

Our systems indicate that the email address from which you are writing is not associated with an account that has received a warning or has been disabled. You will need to contact us from the email address associated with the account in question.

Please provide your first name and last name, along with a brief description of the problem you are facing, and include all of our previous exchanges. If you cannot send messages from the email address with which you log into your account, please mention that email address in your response."

Hello everyone,
So this worked for me:
Not wanting to give my own phone number, I asked a friend's friend to lend me an old SIM card from a work phone, I reactivated the number and then I provided it to FB. Two days later (on 09/11/10) I received the confirmation code and it works, I was able to regain access to my FB account. I turned off the phone and then removed the battery.

Apparently, there's a possibility to get a Google Voice number (I don't know what that is) to receive a confirmation code.

Hi everyone. I just found the solution. You actually need to go to your Facebook account (unverified), then go to account settings, then to the "mobile" tab. You need to delete the phone number that is listed and go back to the section where you enter your phone number to activate the account. That's it.

I don't know why, when I had this problem, it happened to me with Firefox, and each time Facebook only offered to send the confirmation code via SMS to my phone, which is surprising given the number of users because I think it would cost them quite a bit if they actually did it. Later, I tried with Explorer and there I had the choice between receiving the code on my email and via SMS. Of course, I chose by email. And miracle, it worked. F...ing bugs!

It's not that I haven't received a verification message, I just refuse to give it.

Many of my friends, and users who have given their phone number, most received nothing; and a large part think that Facebook uses this 'verification technique' (supposedly) to collect EVEN MORE information about us!

And yes, because Facebook, everyone knows, is a gigantic 'very detailed directory', so why not complete this directory then? Easy! They just have to ask people to provide their numbers! (I'm putting myself in the shoes of the creator lol)

Well, sure, I exaggerate, the story about phone verification code works for some people but maybe Facebook takes the opportunity to keep your number!

Hi,

a friend just had the same problem today and by digging a bit I managed to go to account settings, the email address was pending so I requested to resend the confirmation email; I received a link with that famous code on it; I didn't have to use it, fb reopened automatically.
