DVD+RW cut in playback

Good evening, I’m trying to burn a short film onto a DVD+RW using ConvertXtoDVD 4, but the disc is either unreadable or the picture cuts out during playback.

I have two DVD players at home: on one of them the disc is unreadable and shows "no disk." On my second player, the disc is readable, the menu works correctly, but the film freezes at 52 seconds and stays stuck on the image, with no way to go further.

I tried reburning the file without success, and I also tried to reconvert the video file, which is originally in .avi, but again no result.

Is this a known problem? How can I fix it? My camcorder outputs video files in .avi; would buying another camcorder make burning easier?

Thanks in advance.

    good evening,
    - I often burn AVI files to DVDs, so far I’ve never had a problem...
I use DVD-Rs that are a bit more compatible with home DVD players, what I can advise you is to get a 4.7 GB 16x DVD-R, burn your short film and see if it works ...
    - if you have at least Vista, there is a software that does this very well, it is "Windows Create a DVD" you can burn a 150-minute video DVD, find it in the Start menu ...(ConverXtoDVD is also very good)

Hello, indeed I went to buy a pack of DVD+R today, and by doing exactly the same thing, it works!
    Thanks for the help.
