Write-protected DVD RW

Hello,
Here is my problem, I burned a DVD RW with Nero 8 as a data DVD some time ago and now I want to erase it.
The problem is that when I try to erase or format it, my computer writes, "this disk is write-protected."
I have been searching everywhere for over 3 weeks and no one has the answer to unlock this protection. All I know is that the session has been closed...
Thank you for giving me a helping hand if anyone has already solved this rather annoying problem.
Oh yes, I'm on Vista... Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

no, that's wrong, it has nothing to do with it
there is the software "blank" that forces the formatting of CDs
    http://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/telecharger 3673477 super blank
    otherwise, trash ....

The DVDs are not messed up! Try formatting them with the program "Alcohol," it works! But be careful, it's a powerful program.
