An Iomega is an external hard drive and if he wants to open it, it's likely that either his hard drive is dead or the enclosure itself is malfunctioning. But if it’s like mine, I have an Iomega ScreenPlay Plus 1TB and it's no longer working, and it's impossible to open it. I'm really frustrated. Thanks if anyone knows.

Hello,
To open it, you need to force it a bit; the two screws don't hold the case closed.
You have to flip the hard drive and forcefully (I used two large screwdrivers) pry off the plastic part. I left marks on the case.

Hello
Why take it apart? To replace it? Above all, never open the disk protection casing, then it's ruined
and if it's under warranty, you lose all warranty
I don't know what iomega is... ???
Normally on a PC, in a tower, a hard drive is held with four screws, two on each side, in a laptop it's much more delicate, there are a lot of fragile components, always screws and a wide connector that holds it well
finally, there are repair shops that do this very well and safely

Hello
What happened? A recent hard drive is faulty! (1 terabyte is very recent) Did it fall?
You can change it, of course, but get yourself "some help" because your hard drive has its own specific characteristics and you can't just put anything in its place, and the new drive will need a setup (formatting, partitioning, etc.) that you may not know, you might struggle a lot
I advise you to try to meet a technician who is used to maintenance and can help you; you'll find this around or near a computer repair shop where you can find, with a bit of conversation, people who are understanding and helpful who will certainly assist you
With a kind word, you can get anywhere
Bye and hang in there
