Create WiFi hotspot with a USB key

Hello,

At my workplace, I access the internet on my desktop computer via a local network connection (Ethernet cable).

I have an iPad that can connect to the internet from a Wi-Fi hotspot.

I was wondering if it is possible to create a Wi-Fi hotspot from the local network connection I have.
I found a USB key that would "transform" my PC into a hotspot: http://www.presence-pc.com/actualite/Hercules-Emetteur-Wifi-23146/
but this page states "...The Hercules key shares your internet connection wirelessly with one click..." which bothers me in this description because I do not have a "wireless internet connection" at work... So I'm wondering if this type of USB key meets my needs?...

I need advice and thank you in advance

P.S. I know there is a software solution called Connectify that allows you to turn a WINDOWS 7 PC into a hotspot, but I am using XP. So I'm wondering if there isn't a hardware solution that does the same thing?

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.7

Hello,

The USB WIFI key in question allows you to broadcast a wifi network (like a box) from an existing connection.

So whether your source connection is Ethernet, a 56k modem, or wifi, you can share it with the iPad via the WIFI key regardless of your operating system.

However, be careful to protect this network and not to misuse it if it is located at the workplace (please refer to the company's IT regulations)
