Hello,

On a a Viva laptop running XP Pro, I can no longer start it: it boots and quickly gets stuck with an error message 0210 Stuck Key => followed by => <F1> To resume or <F2> Setup.

The problem is, of course, that none of the keys are working, F1 and F2 are inoperative, what a joke!

I’ve tested each key one by one, I’ve cleaned with spray: everything looks OK, but no.

I managed twice by insisting and randomly tapping the keys to get Windows to start. But even then, the problem persists: the keyboard is not working at all.

Worse: the mouse allowed me to open directories and access the Control Panel, but I can’t launch an application (clicks on "OK," for example, are inoperative). I tried to launch a system restore: I got into the interface, but I couldn’t click to start the restore (and no error message at all).

I took the HDD apart and connected it to another PC, I scanned it: no viruses.

Stupidly, I thought never mind, I’d reinstall XP and that’d be the end of it.
But... without the keyboard, I got stuck as soon as I had to press Enter!!! Ha ha ha! And guess which is the only key that worked? The F3, which is used to cancel the installation! Strange, right?

I would really appreciate if someone could get me out of this deadlock, as I admit I’ve exhausted all my resources. :-(

It goes without saying that I have already searched the web extensively, in French and in English, without finding the slightest solution.

So all that's left for me is to hope that my SOS will be heard here and I thank 1000 times in advance my future savior!!!

check if all your keys are properly released (if so; press all the keys one by one) and once it's done, try to start

Thank you Missan for trying to help me: you are indeed the only one on this! :-)

I know that they say better late than never, but unfortunately, this post is almost 2 and a half years old and since then, the phone has ended up in the trash...

Hello,

it's a motherboard issue. You can return your PC if it's still under warranty or replace the motherboard directly if it's not ;)
