Hello everyone,

For the past 4 days, my hard drive was making a lot of noise, lagging... Well, I knew that sooner or later it would fail me. Yesterday morning I turned on my computer and, as expected, a black screen told me that my hard drive is failing.

Today, I opened my computer and replaced it with an old one I had in my drawer, but now my computer won’t turn on at all.

When I press the power button: the power supply starts, all the fans are running (graphics card, case, and processor), the new hard drive is spinning (I can hear it), but the screen stays off and my keyboard is not powered.

I still tested the screen and keyboard on another PC, and of course they work perfectly.

Do you think my motherboard or processor might be dead?

So it's already good, you certainly have a poorly inserted component, bad connection, etc...

A damaged hard drive can prevent the PC from booting; the BIOS gets stuck and the screen stays black. Also, be careful with the power supply... it may very well run the CPU fan but not be sufficient to power the rest of the hardware, among others: hard drive, video card, CD-ROM drive, etc... which are heavy energy consumers.
