RAM stick issue and black screen after installation

Hello,

I am reaching out because I have been trying for a while to install my two new RAM sticks.

Not being very knowledgeable about PC assembly, I thought the simplest solution would be to get the same ones that I already have in my PC.

However, once properly clicked in and installed, my computer starts up and remains on a black screen. The problem also occurs when only one is installed. When I remove them, everything goes back to normal.

I am not sure what to do and don't understand why it doesn’t work, given that they are the same.

    Cpu-Z tells me that my motherboard is as follows:

    MSI
    Model: B150M PRO-VDH (MS-7982)

    The RAM sticks I want to install are:

    - G-SKILL Ripjaws DDR4-2133 4Gx2

      There is no incompatibility problem; they should normally work. Have you tried putting them in slots 2 and 4 or tried with one stick in each slot one by one? There could be a defective solder joint, considering there has been handling.

      In fact, if I add them to the two already present, I get a black screen; if I only add one, the same happens. I haven't tested replacing them, but that's not really my goal; the aim was to add them. Could they be incompatible with what I already have on my computer?

        So after checking, I don’t see how they could be incompatible because they are similar and after testing them one by one, they are all functional and the slots are the same, but with 4 or 3, nothing works anymore.

      Ah indeed, I didn't understand that, I thought you had rebuilt a PC with your old RAM sticks, so only 2 new ones... So yes, it's very likely that they are not compatible with each other; you need to check their frequencies.

      They are exactly the same and their references are the same, I imagine that the frequency must be the same then.
