Hello,
For a week now, the screen of my HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop has turned pink for everything that was white and green for everything that was black...
I don't know what's causing it, but when I press the bottom of my computer, the image goes back to normal! I think it's a bad connection, but I'm not sure what.
When my screen is pink and I connect it to another monitor, the image on the other screen is normal.
I took it to a computer repair shop where the technician supposedly opened my laptop to see what was causing the problem, and he told me that the graphics card was dead!!!! And since the graphics card was connected to the motherboard, it would be too expensive for me...
I wanted to know your opinion, because I don't think it's the graphics card that's dead otherwise I think I wouldn't have any image or the screen would be pink all the time... I changed the motherboard a year ago and of course my laptop's warranty just expired ten days ago!!!
Can you shed some light on this for me?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello,
For some time now, I've been having the same issue with my HP Compaq 8510p. For now, this problem is easily resolved; I just need to tilt my screen one way or the other for the colors to return to normal. Luckily, it rarely happens.
Having checked several forums, this problem seems to be specific to HP, so there should be a solution available.
I'm not a professional, but given that you just need to "press the bottom of my computer" and I need to move my screen to solve the issue, I doubt that the motherboard or graphics card is the cause.
I also think it's just a connection problem between some wires. If that's the case, a repair at HP shouldn't be too complicated or take long.
Could someone knowledgeable please share their opinion?
Thank you!
