hello everyone
following a wrong操作 on my part my Canon TS 3100 printer tells me:
"the printer status cannot be displayed with the port currently used – printing is impossible" ! I am 80 years old, I see very poorly, it is difficult for me to solve this problem, I searched the internet and on Canon I did not understand or could not read correctly if you could troubleshoot thanks to your knowledge I would be delighted and relieved
in advance thank you

Hello,
Try turning off the printer and then the PC. Wait a moment, then turn the printer on and the PC again. This is intended to reset the communication port.
Afterwards, if nothing works, reinstall the Canon TS3100 driver by going to Settings, then Bluetooth & devices, then Printers & scanners, and click on your Canon TS3100, then click Remove.
Then reinstall the driver from Canon's website.
You should investigate a bit more afterward as well.

Hello Winnie.
Unintentionally, you may have changed a connection from one type to another, which means that when you send a print request, the info never reaches the printer.
It would be good to tell us how you were using your printer with respect to the computer.
With a USB cable?, via Wi-Fi (Wireless)? Or Other?
Ideally, and the easiest for you would be to uninstall and reinstall the drivers with the latest onesOn Canon's site, there are Pixma 3140, 3150 and 3151; which one is yours precisely? And what is your operating system? > Windows 10/11 or MacOS or Linux?
With these details, we can assist you.

hello
yes sorry I forgot the main thing
I am on Windows 11, a wireless Canon TS3151 printer, that’s what’s marked on the printer, but it showed up as TS 3100!!! (new cartridges therefore filled)
note I am old, not very sharp and visually impaired! everything to please, really
it has to be clear and simple for me, a big thank you
best regards

First try this procedure:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/PrinterDriver/W/TS3100%20series/1.0/FR/PPG/dg-c_driver_delete.html
Then, for part 2, by clicking on this link, it will prompt you to download the latest printer driver configuration software.
These are from February 2026:

Hello,
Download and install --> Revo Uninstaller
Run it as administrator
Uninstall all printer products from Canon
Make sure to follow the tutorial to uninstall everything cleanly including folders and residual registry keys.
For residue scanning, check --> advanced mode
Download this driver --> TS3100
Disconnect the USB cable from the PC
Turn on the printer
Run the driver setup
Follow the instructions. -
