United Colours of Avid

Bonjour,
I have a small problem with avid since two days, following another trial for a scrolling title:
The title went in the "bin" after being saved ...but wouldn't "show" on the editing screen.....no text, none of my beautifull wording.....nada!
I then did a right clic on the title symbol in the bin....and found to my amazement that i could "export" it.....which I promptly did, just to see if it worked, and it does!
For information this gives a pct. file,
To cut a long story short, I eventually exported the rolling title as a QT mouvie - so that I could import it for use in the video......why be simple when one can be complicated?
Imagine my surprise when - during importation - I saw the usual "fast import with QT" etc.....and then "converting alpha information from QT"......!
The title showed on the editing screen...but far too slow to use in the video....!
I'm sure you saw that coming from a long way....but I'm still proud of me....
Of course I scraped all those useless files after a few hours of trying different things ....and thought nothing more about it .....
Since then something bad has happened....and I mean BAD.
When I've used "pan 'n scan" special effects to do slow zooms on consecutive stills, and add a "fondu" overlap...the stills don't zoom any more, and appear in colours only worn on ties by those on France 2 during the loterie results.
As soon as the "fondu effect" is erazed normality of colour reappears....and the zoom of "pan 'n scan" too.
Any help for this part-time amator who's just trying to have fun.....please.
