Xbox 360 charger diode not lit

Hello,

I've been having a problem for a while now, it's with the charge and play kit.
Let me explain, a few days ago, noticing that my controller with battery was blinking (indicating that it's out of battery), I decided to plug the cable into my controller, and the light doesn't turn on except when the plug is "half-inserted" into the controller, it is green even though the battery is supposed to be dead, so when I fully plug it in, the battery doesn't charge and when I unplug, my controller turns off and finally when I plug the cable into the controller without the battery; it turns on, so it wouldn't be the cable...
Have others had this problem too, and if so, did you resolve it?
Is the battery dead, do I need to buy another kit?

Thank you in advance
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hey again!

I'm posting again because I think I've found a trick to recharge it! For those who have encountered the same problem (controller not charging when connected to the plug and charge kit... the red light immediately turns green while the battery is empty!), I recommend unplugging it and plugging it back in several times in a row. I know, it sounds silly, but it worked for me. I found it strange that a battery only a few months old was already dead... so I unplugged it and plugged it back in immediately twice... and then.. miracle, the light stays red: actually, I think the console (weirdly) detects that the battery is full. So it changes the light to green... and therefore the battery doesn't charge. It only does so when the light is red! After realizing this, I thought I had to unplug it several times to "force" the charging (red light) even if it's just for a few seconds... then, once the operation is repeated 3-4 times, the controller stays charged with the red light. In short: really weird!

Conclusion: I feel like this phenomenon occurs with completely drained controller batteries! So force the recharge as indicated above! It worked for me! ;)) And... I don't think it's a loose connection because I tried with several cables and on several controllers! I think it's really the charging detector that's messed up... or maybe the battery is too drained. Who knows!

There you go, A++
