360 controller charging issue

Hello

So here is my problem, I bought a wireless Xbox 360 controller + the adapter to make it work on my PC. Everything is fine so far, except that I decided to buy a "play & charge kit" to avoid the battery dying during a game. Anyway, I install the battery and plug in the cable to charge it, and then the PC asks me to install drivers. I put the latest update and restarted, but the battery is not charging. So I would like to know what to do to get the battery charging. I have Windows XP Pro SP2.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.16

  1. Hello everyone.
It's indeed a problem with the battery being too low.
I just had the issue with a new kit that I had in the box for a year.
The red light turns green after about 13 seconds, so you plug it in, count to 10, then unplug for three seconds and plug it back in for another 10 seconds to keep the indicator steadily red.
I had to be patient and do it a good ten times for the charge to start.
Thank you very much for the tip, it works perfectly!!!
    1. Thank you, it works.
    2. OMG thank you, I thought it wouldn't work given the total lack of logic in the manipulation, but everything is working! Thanks, ball!
    3. It works for me too :p
    4. Hi there and hello to everyone else...
So here it is, I had two controllers for my Xbox, (one white + one black) and I wanted to save money by buying a rechargeable battery with a cable, but I ran into the same problem. As soon as I plug it in, the light is red but turns green after about 10-15 seconds. I tried the trick but I don’t know when to unplug the cable and when to plug it back in. If someone could help me, that would be nice...
Also, when I plug in the cable, my controller starts blinking as if it wasn’t configured, while when I plug it in with the black controller, it configures and works normally except there’s no color, neither red nor green :/
