Hello,
I have an HP Business Inkjet 1100 printer that refuses to work when it recognizes an ink cartridge that has passed its expiration date. However, I still have a small stock of cartridges in this situation. Is there a way to remedy this problem?

Hello,
I also have an HP Business Inkjet 1100 and I use expired cartridges without any issue on Linux (generic driver), whereas it is impossible to print on Windows XP with the HP driver. Therefore, the problem is not with the cartridges but rather with the HP driver for Windows.....
I don't have a solution yet. -
"You should be pleased, as using expired ink risks clogging the print heads and potentially requiring an expensive repair at the shop!"
I think we're all grown enough to assess the risk ourselves...
If HP added a warning message, that would indeed be a plus, but this is just a load of crap -_-
Just an old commercial manipulation aimed at pushing the most expensive thing, the cartridge. They sell you a printer at a discount but then they make a huge profit on the cartridges...
I’m therefore also looking for a way to circumvent the problem; it seems impossible to me at first glance, but if anyone has found a trick, I’m all ears :)
Have a good day-
The solution I found for my HP Photosmart 8250 is, when you have the message on the small screen, press the right arrow to go to the end of the message, and then "OK." If that doesn't work, I remove the problematic cartridges and put them back in. If it still doesn't work in Windows, switch to Mandriva Linux: it's better...

In my case (HP Photosmart 8250 - cartridge expired a few months but 90% full of ink), removing and reinserting the cartridge did not fool the printer. However, to continue with the response from the user "me," pressing the right arrow was fortunately conclusive! Additionally, I found a notice on the HP site that confirms everything and displays a table of printers and their sometimes costly quirks in this regard: http://www.hp.com/pageyield/fr-150/articles/inkExpiration.html?cCode=ch

Hello,
Well, I think there's no way your printer will use those cartridges since the cartridges have an electronic badge that sends the information that they are expired, so it blocks them. -
You should be glad, as using expired ink risks clogging the print nozzles and might require an expensive repair at the shop!
