Hello,

When replacing the black cartridge in an EPSON DX4400 printer with an EPSON cartridge (ref. Black T0711), the printer refuses to recognize the cartridge and considers it incompatible!
Who can help me?
Thank you!

Replace ink cartridge on Epson DX4400:
    Click on "Start"
    Click on "Settings"
    Click on "Printers"
    Double click on the icon
    Click on the "Utilities" tab
Click on the "change cartridge" icon
    Follow the given instructions.
    Is that okay?

An addition to my previous message, which I am repeating in its entirety for clarity.
      *click on "Start"
      *click on "Settings"
      *click on "printers"
      *double click on printer icon
      <underline>*click on "Print Options"
      *click on the "Utilities" tab
*click on the "change cartridges" icon
Follow the successive instructions. It's a piece of cake.

The machine makes a noise at startup, indicating a fault with reference E000024-001.

I changed all the cartridges, but the black one is indicating that it is not compatible; however, it is indeed the brand specified by Epson.

Do you have to necessarily change all four (empty) cartridges, or is the black one enough for the printer to work? Thank you for your help, here is my email: Address email removed Moderation CCM

so difficult same problem I bought a T0711 cartridge from Epson, completely new, and the printer says the cartridge is not compatible. I don’t know what to do, yet I followed the procedure for replacing the cartridges, but in my opinion, there must be a bug.

Good evening Gtruie, Good evening Gkm,
Having encountered a problem twice with installing Epson cartridges T0712 and T0713, which were not recognized by my Epson DX 4400 printer (although they were new and original), I finally resolved it by cleaning the chip on the cartridges with a tissue slightly dampened with 90° alcohol. After "cleaning" the chips without rubbing too hard and then reinstalling the cartridges, the printer recognized them right away! And the flashing red light went out instantly! Installation successful!
This last-ditch maneuver before the planned replacement purchase today allowed me to save €26! (2x€12.99).
I hope this has been helpful to you.
      Best regards.

I promise I'll try your trick, but I've heard (from professionals) that this problem is common with Epson, because they use what's called cold liquids, and if you don't use your printer for a certain amount of time, this issue can occur even with new cartridges, because it seems like a deposit may have formed? I have a "dx 4450" printer. So far, I have changed the cartridges several times, sometimes with "compatible" ones, and everything worked fine.
Recently, I replaced an empty cartridge with a "Epson" cartridge that I had refilled with "Epson" ink.
Now everything is blocked. The cartridge is blue (that is: cyan) and on the computer screen, it is crossed out with a red X, which means it is not compatible.
Can you help me? I don't understand.

I had the same problem with a DX7450 (Epson cartridge and compatible, by the way).
      Apparently, error logs are stored in memory and sometimes they cause issues;
The solution I found somewhere on the internet: turn off the printer and unplug the power cord
for 2 hours (sometimes 5 minutes is enough!); the error logs clear and Yay, it's back
      until next time!
      This solved my problem
      good luck

    Good evening,
I think it would be better for this cartridge model to use T0711 refillable cartridges; they are auto-reset (the chip resets automatically after each refill) and they come with a cap to facilitate refilling.
    Here is the link:

The cartridges are really cheap compared to other sites!
    See you soon.
