Camera stabilizer issue

Hello,

I have a problem with a digital camera from Casio: Exilim EX-V7
When I turn on the camera, a message appears "the stabilizer is not available."
Following this message, the screen turns off. Therefore, it is impossible to take photos, I can only view those already on my memory card.
The user manual, which is quite brief, does not mention a stabilizer.

Could someone give me advice on how to solve this problem?
Thank you,
Adrien.

I bought the device new and it was delivered to me... transport-related problem?
I was wondering if it was possible to reconfigure this stabilizer from the camera's menu so that it becomes available.
    Do you think that's possible?

So it can be returned under warranty! If the problem is not resolved!

    Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem with my Casio Exilim EX-V7, THE STABILIZER UNAVAILABLE. I can't access the menu to disable it or otherwise solve the issue.

    Thank you for your help.

    Good evening
I fear there is no other solution than a return.
    See Casio link

A solution that seems to work:
      * check if there is an update available for the device at the link:
      https://www.support.casio-europe.com/fr/downloads/dc/exv7/
      * enter the serial number, then download the software and follow the instructions on Casio's site.

In my case (EX V7) it works, because even if it indicates at startup that the stabilizer is no longer available, the camera is working again.

Following a shock, the device displayed the same message "the stabilizer is not available." After unloading and reinstalling the program, the device is working again. However, the message still appears when turned back on. Does anyone know how to erase it?

I had the same issue with an Exilim EX-V7 (stabilizer not available) and by reloading the firmware, it works again... thanks for the info... and indeed, the message always displays when powering on, but we can take pictures... now we just need to see if the stabilizer works well... catch you later.

You are my heroes :') It had been almost 2 years since it last worked with the same message "stabilizer not available" and here it is, I downloaded the update, followed the instructions and my camera is working again, even though the message appears at the beginning!!
    THANK YOU!

    Hello.
I have the same problem as you. I went to the website you mentioned, but it asks for a serial number and I don't know which number it is referring to.
Can someone tell me where it is located on the device?

    Thank you in advance!

      Hello

The serial number is underneath the casing, near the foot screw.
Otherwise, it is also on the box.

      Have a nice day

It's located on the small label, right? And it's quite long? (8 digits 1 letter for me)
If we are indeed talking about the same thing, it doesn't "take" it on the site, what should I do?

I no longer have the box; it's an old device!
      Thank you very much!

Ah, you shouldn't have put the letter but just the number!

Have a nice day to you too!

My Casio Ex-V7 says the stabilizer is not available, what should I do to make the digital device functional?

      Hello,

This discussion is about an outdated camera. The problem is common and doesn’t have a real solution. Everything that's suggested here is obsolete.

Some advise tapping the body to unlock the stabilizer (mechanical).
      Try it.
But it's better to forget this equipment, completely outdated at this point, in every respect.
