Pentax Optio S50 Camera Issue

Hello!

I have a Pentax Espio S50 camera that broke down two weeks after the warranty expired. It turns on and then immediately turns off. The lens doesn't move at all, and I think it's either stuck or broken... I'm hesitant to get it repaired given the cost (at least 80 Euros). I opened it up, but I can't see where I can intervene on the optical block. Does anyone have any advice for me?

Thank you.

Michel

PS: The camera works fine for viewing photos and recording sound!
Configuration: Windows 2000 Internet Explorer 6.0

Good evening,

Ouch, your problem comes from the fact that your zoom block is stuck (fall, pressure...)

Unfortunately, there’s not much to do other than replace it.

This one is expensive as it comes complete with the CCD sensor from Pentax (around €200)

You can always ask them for a quote by sending your camera by post.

Their address is on their website www.pentax.fr

If you’re in the Paris area, you can go see them; they’ll tell you right away the potential cost of the repairs.

I remain at your disposal for any further information.

Take care.
